Product Review: The Shift by Komuso

Reset & refocus your breathing

If you are looking for something that can slow your breathing and calm you down in overwhelming situations, then The Shift by Komuso might be right for you. The Shift is a 2 inch flute-like pendant attached to a necklace. The pendant was inspired by a bamboo flute used by 17th century Japanese Komuso monks. During meditation, these monks would blow into the flutes for the purposes of healing and enlightenment. The Shift is designed to help achieve similar principles by aiding its user to refocus their energy and reset their mind.

The Shift has His & Hers styles

The styles of The Shift are split between a her version and a him version. The him version comes in silver and slate with a 25” ball chain. The her version comes in silver, gold, rose gold and slate with a 28” pullover cable chain. The cost of The Shift ranges from $85.00-$115.00 depending on what color metal you select. While the cost of this item may be expensive, for me, the potential benefits and high quality of the pendant superseded the expense. I purchased a her version in silver and the cost for this metal was $105.00.

Quality craftsmanship

My purchase arrived a week later in a sleek black box. The chain and pendant piece were individually wrapped to avoid scratching and a soft pouch was included for storing The Shift. The etching of the word, “calm”, in Japanese, appeared at the opening of the pendant. These words really popped alongside the already high polished stainless steel. Also included, were instructions on how to properly use The Shift and a diagram that broke down the functionality of the pendant.
